In Uganda and across Africa, thousands of children are left orphaned each year—some due to road accidents, others to disease, poverty, or abandonment. These children often end up on the streets, exposed to hunger, abuse, trauma, and hopelessness. Many never get the chance to attend school, receive medical care, or even feel loved.

Our founder, Sebaggala Hassan, lived that reality. At a young age, he lost both parents in a tragic road accident and was forced to survive on the streets. He faced hunger, fear, and loneliness—until one man took him in and changed his life. That act of compassion became the inspiration behind Springs of Smiles Ministry.

We exist because one life changed through love can change hundreds more.

Springs of Smiles Ministry was founded to give orphaned children the second chance Hassan once received—a chance to be loved, to be educated, to grow spiritually, and to discover their God-given potential.

We believe that:

SSM is not just a shelter. It is a home, a school, a farm, and a family.

We exist to raise children in faith, love, and hope, equipping them to become the leaders, teachers, and caregivers of tomorrow—breaking the cycle of poverty and abandonment one life at a time.
